1. What inspired you to write this book?
I was inspired to write this book because we (Bus Drivers) all have stories to
tell.
2. What exactly is it about and who
is it written for? My book is about the many stories or things I’ve
witnessed throughout my career of thirty-four years driving a bus condensed of
course. And it was written for all the Bus Drivers all around the world because
they could relate to some if not all the stories in my book.
3. What do you hope readers will get out
of reading your book? I really hope the readers get a great laugh and a good
read from reading my book.
4. How did you decide on your book’s title and
cover design? The title was inspired by my oldest son, because at first, I was
going to title it Bus Driver Chronicles, but my son said no mommy you should
title it Confessions of a Bus Driver. Because you’re confessing your stories.
And I loved the catchy name, so I went with it. My publisher sent me four cover
designs and I immediately fell in love with the girl on the cover and then she
sent me the doodling in her hair, and I was totally sold. Then she sent me four
colors, pink on pink, white on white, yellow on yellow, and yellow with white
lettering. And as you can see, I went with the yellow on yellow.
5. What advice or words of wisdom do you have
for fellow writers – other than run!? Writing a book is a lotta, lotta,
work. I’ve been writing this book for years. I wanted to give up so many times,
but something would not allow me to do so. So, when I retired in November 2023,
I finally made myself sit down and completed the book. So, I’ve said all that
to say don’t give up especially if it’s your dream or passion. This was a
longtime dream of mine, and I DID IT!!!
6. What trends in the book world do you see —
and where do you think the book publishing industry is heading? I just don’t
see a lot of people reading a lot like they used to. Not an actual handheld
book anyway but maybe reading on a kindle or tablet. I not really sure where
the book publishing industry is heading.
7. Were there experiences in your
personal life or career that came in handy when writing this book? Oh
absolutely. Because my stories were actual true-life stories it helped a great
deal first by bringing the story back to the forefront of my mind and
remembering how the story played out.
8. How would you describe your writing style?
Which writers or books is your writing similar to? Because this is my very
first attempt at writing a book, I think my writing style is very short, sweet,
and to the point. Next story. I didn’t want the chapters to be long and drawn
out. And I’m not sure if there is a book or writer that’s similar to mine. I’m
sure there are some.
9. What challenges did you overcome in the
writing of this book? I remain focused until the book was absolutely COMPLETE!
That was my only challenge staying focused.
10. If people can buy or read one book this
week or month, why should it be yours? Because not only is the cover very
eye-catching, but if you read the synopsis on the back of the book it will make
you so curious that you would have to know more. And if purchased and you start
reading it you will not be able to put it down. I just want to say thank you
very much for reaching out to me. I’ve been trying to find someone to help me
promote my book. And then you pop up in my emails. For a first-time author I really
think I did an excellent job at writing this book. Also, I am currently working
on Confessions of a Bus Driver. Part two the ride continues. Again, thank
you. I look forward to working with you
